Your tour will start as your tour guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Thessaloniki. You will drive to the Ancient city of Philippi, the first city that Paul gave witness to after he saw the vision of the Macedonian man saying : step over to Macedonia and help us.”
You walk in the river of Lydia outside the city. (Acts 16:13-15) The first woman that got Baptized in Europe.
You will go back in history following Apostle Paul as you will enter the Archaeological site of the Ancient Philippi.
You will walk in the impressive Roman Forum where Paul and Silas preached, walk in the ancient road of Egnatia street and visit the theater of Philippi.
You will stand in the marketplace in front of the city Magistrates building where Paul and Silas brought and the crowd had torn their garments. And see an inner prison like the one imprisoned Paul.
You will visit the Philippi museum and learn a lot about the history of Philip the second and Alexander the Great and see how many prophecies were fulfilled in this area from the Bible.
After touring the city you will drive with your tour guide to the port of Neapolis - Kavala where Paul disembarked with a ship to Macedonia. Acts 16:11.
The tour will end driving back to Thessaloniki where the tour guide will drop you at your accommodation place.
Philippi in person tour fee is 150eu per person. Entrance tickets for the archaeological site (8 euro) and Lunch fee are not included. *notice. The tour of Philippi requires a minimum of two participants.
Children under 12 have a special fee for Philippi. The tour of Philippi can be booked only when it is combined together with the Thessaloniki following Paul’s footsteps tour.
